I really like this song... It's a laid back, groove oriented production and it's very nicely done...This song would work great in a film that is based on compassion, "loving you always", global peace, spirituality and humans caring for each other... Congratulations Gioia for a very sweet, positive, motivating and encouraging song. Turn U Out takes you on an emotionally endearing, and groove oriented journey of compassion and caring. Listening to this song you know that we aren't "left behind" in the world when we know someone cares for us.

I definitely recommend checking out this album. It's a well crafted, well thought out production with some insanely catchy songs. I especially liked "Turn U Out" with it's nod to Peter Gabriel. "Leave You Behind" reminds me of something Crowded House would do. And - if "The Simplest Thing" doesn't become one of the most popular wedding songs, I'll be shocked. Buy this album - you won't be disappointed.

"Retroscape:  Atmospheric Rock Instrumentals for a New Age" by El Kapitan is honored with recognition by 92.5 WXRV The River, by making it to the final ten in The River Rising Star contest for 2007. Approximately 300 cd's were submitted to a panel of music industry judges, including representatives from several major record labels.   "Retroscape" was the only instrumental record to make it to the finals. Program Director Ron Bowen said of the record: " I simply was very impressed with the quality of the music, the production, and the package itself.  I thought this record deserves recognition."    Members of El Kapitan attended a finalist showcase at the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston.

“Intriguing album… … with help from Marc Soucy who polishes up the music, adds a certain presence, programs, mixes, and adds some other space style keyboard solos ranging from Zawinul like solos on the album’s track ‘They Want Me’ to the moody horns on ‘Favor’, Marc is a very talented musician…” cd review of Nocover’s “Forget” by Kim Fletcher on Amazon and other sites, August, 2006

".make(s) every note count in a very cleverly constructed song that has every nuance of emotion wrung from it." -- Pattaya Mail newspaper, Oct 28-Nov 3 2005 issue, by music critic Mott the Dog

“…the hottest (or is it coolest?) producer/engineer in the Boston area, the guy who took “WAY” from homebrew to pro, and deserves at least 3 of the 4 stars in its 4 star review”
--George Skelly, aka Shadowman of Nocover, regarding the 4-star review of their cd, “Way” in Soundcheck Magazine , and having received the “Unsigned Artist of the Month” award from Keyboard magazine in August 2003

“That's right, folks, I gave this CD four stars ! Every once in a great while one comes across a CD that just has everything going for it: the music kicks a--, the lyrics are perfect, the mix is outstanding, and the overall production is obviously a labor of love. "Way" is one such CD.”
--Mike Walsh, reviewing “Way” by Nocover in Soundcheck Magazine, March 2003

“…mastery on a wealth of musical instruments as well as some impressive studio production from Soucy.”
– 20th Century Guitar Magazine, record review, May 2005 issue

"With only two members of the band, obviously a lot of things have to be overdubbed, but unless you know this you would naturally assume that this was actually a large group of talented musicians showing off their wares. On record, El Kapitan sounds like a full band so well do they mesh all their different parts together. In fact you would think they had the progressive rock equivalent of Charlie Watts on drums such is the laid back, but very holding it all together drum style of Marc Soucy." -- Chiagmai Mail newspaper, Oct 29-Nov 4 2005 issue by music critic Mott the Dog

"The instrumental work is certainly very impressive. ... There's no denying he's a very talented guy..."
-- Kevin O'Hare, music critic published in 42 newspapers nationwide

"Working and collaborating with Marc Soucy has been a total pleasure. He is extremely professional and constantly strives to provide the best product for his customers.
